Federal police olympics inaugurated

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) headquarters Nasir Satti inaugurated the police Olympics at a ceremony held at Police Line headquarters, Islamabad.

Speaking at the occasion, Satti said that the Olympics would be held annually so that healthy activities could be maintained, he added.

This ceremony was attended by Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Police Farrukh Rashid, Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) security Jamil Hashmi, SP city Zubair Sheikh, SP headquarters Sumera Azam and other police officials.

While addressing the ceremony, DIG headquarters Nasir Satti said that sports activities are in the top priorities of IG Islamabad. IG Sultan Tamori has made special orders to launch police Olympics.

The competitions of various sports including marathon race, body building, wrestling, Kabbadi and cricket would be held and continue till March 19.

He reiterated that sports activities play an important role in human development and helps in building the healthy society and proves helpful in releasing tension.

DIG revealed that, in these Olympics female police personnel would also take part in these competitions.

Earlier, Olympics were started with the marathon race in which male and female police personnel have taken part.

At the end of the marathon race, AIG Farrukh Rashid has awarded the trophies among position holders.
