7 candidates served notices for violating code of conduct

RAWALPINDI
District Monitoring Officer (DMO) Rawalpindi Umer Jahangir on Wednesday issued show-cause notices to seven PML-N leaders for violating the election code of conduct, while participating in the car rally of capt (retd) Muhammad Safdar prior to his arrest by NAB.
According to the notices, the rally organisers did not take the prior permission from the district administration, which was mandatory as per the the code of conduct announced by Election Commission of Pakistan.
As the sections 32, 40 and 41 of the code of conduct did not allow holding a car rally, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidates including Malik Shakeel from PP-18, Daniyal Chaudhary from NA-62, Hanif Abbasi from NA-60, contesting candidate from PP-16, Ibrar Ahmed, NA-61 candidate, PP-17 candidate, Chaudhry Tanveer, Arslan Hafeez and Raja Hanif Advocate participated in the illegal rally taken out on July 8 violating the electoral code of conduct, the DMO observed.
