Around 15 Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders, who participated in demonstrations led by capt (retd) Safdar after his conviction in Avenfield references, have been booked for violating the code of conduct and committing offence according to National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
A team of NAB Officials has arrested Safdar from Rawalpindi on Sunday. When the NAB team have arrived to arrest the convict, some PML-N workers posed hurdles to stop the officials from doing so, of which the Chairman NAB took notice.
The PML-N leaders have been booked by the Waris Khan Police under the Article 3/7 and 341, 188, 147, 149 Amplifier Act violation.
Leaders nominated in the FIR include Chaudhry Tanveer, Daniyal Chaudhry, Sheikh Arsalan, Zia ullah, Raja Hanif and hundreds of others. The two Provincial Assembly contestants and a National Assembly candidate nominated by PML-N have also been booked in the case.
The FIR preamble read that Safdar, convicted by NAB, in leading the rally has blocked the road.
Furthermore, the preamble stated that the FIR contains names of all those accused for violating the code of conduct and for having committed an offence.
