Contesting candidates from the three federal constituencies have expressed their resolve to comply with the rules laid down by the code of conduct and ensured cordial atmosphere during electioneering.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate for NA-54 Imran Ashraf said it is very important for all the contesting candidates to follow the code of conduct issued by Elections Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the general elections.
Conforming to the rules will help to maintain peace in the city, he added.
Ashraf said that his party workers will fully cooperate with the local administration for holding free, fair and transparent polls in the federal capital.
He continued that it is responsibility of every contesting candidate to follow the code of conduct in true spirit.
Pakistan Tehreek Insaf’s (PTI) candidate for NA-52 Khurram Shahzad said that the code of conduct should be implemented across the board without any discrimination.
Shahzad said that he will submit a letter to the District Returning Officer (DRO) office regarding his reservation on some issues related to the violation of code of conduct.
Pakistan Muslim League’s (PML-N) candidate Tariq Fazal said that his party workers are fully charged and actively participating in the election campaign.
Fazal said that his party will also extend full cooperation and follow the election’s code of conduct.
Mutahida Majlis-e-Amal’s (MMA) candidate Muhammad Aslam said that he is well aware of the problems being faced by the people living in the capital and appealed the locals to support him through their vote.
He added that “With joint efforts, we will resolve all outstanding issues of federal capital and transform it into a city that is free from civic problems of all sorts”
He also said guaranteed compliance with rules of elections from his party workers.
The candidate for NA-53 Ghazanfar Mehdi said that it is the prime duty of all the contesting candidates to follow the code of conduct and ensure peaceful election campaigns. APP
