Another official of commerce ministry housing scheme held

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi on Friday arrested Ministry of Commerce Employees Cooperative Housing Society (MOCECHS) Deputy General Manager records Rameez Ahmed on corruption charges.
The accused in connivance with other officials was allegedly involved in illegal allotment of plots and embezzlement of society funds causing a loss of billions of rupees to the society, the members and public at large.
According to the NAB, the accused was also involved in manipulating balloting lists of the society and the transfer of files on the basis of fake and bogus documents.
The NAB produced the accused in the accountability court Islamabad. The accountability court judge accepted the NAB’s plea and granted a 10-day physical remand of the accused to the NAB Rawalpindi.
In the same case, MOCECHS President Rana Ghulam Farid, Ex-vice president Syed Amir Hussain Shah, General Secretary Mazhar Hussain and former executive member development committee Muhammad Akram Awan have been given on a seven-day physical remand to the NAB in the MOCECHS corruption case.
