ECP accepts Imran’s apology in ballot secrecy case

Issues notification of his victory from NA-53
Ejaz Khan
The Election Commission of Pakistan accepted on Friday Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan’s apology over violating the electoral code of conduct by casting his ballot publicly.
The commission also issued the notification of his victory from NA-53 Islamabad.
Khan’s Counsel Dr Babar Awan appeared before the ECP four-member bench to file unconditional apology.
He said he went to cast his vote and sought guidance from the polling staff.
The written apology also read that the media men made footage without his consent.
It also said the PTI chief did not deliberately flout the rules and regulation.
He requested the ECP to withdraw the suo motu notice which was later accepted.
