Ban on journalists’ entry in Passport Office lifted

Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi has taken notice of the ban on journalists’ entry in the Passport office and has directed the high-ups to retract the ban.

Afridi paid a surprise visit to the Passport and Immigration Headquarters during which he was apprised of the problems people faced during their visit to the office. The minister subsequently directed the DG Passports to visit Islamabad and Rawalpindi offices of the division on a weekly basis to resolve problems of the people.

The minister also visited different commercial areas of the federal capital. During his visit, he gave ultimatum to traders to remove encroachments within 24 hours or else the government would demolish them. He was flanked by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqat.
