The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday turned down the request of PPP’s leader Faisal Sakhi Butt, seeking extension in his interim bail in a graft reference.
A divisional bench, comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiyani, conducted the hearing on a plea of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)’s leader seeking further extension in his pre-arrest bail.
During hearing, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s Investigation Officer appeared before the bench and apprised it that the investigation process against the accused person was underway and yet there was no need of his arrest.
At this, the court dismissed Butt’s request for extension in bail and disposed of the petition.
It may be mentioned here that the petitioner had stated in his plea that he could sell his property against any cost under the Property Act, adding that NAB was not authorized to inquire about one’s transaction in this regard.
He further said that it was a matter of private saledeed which didn’t involve corruption practice or misuse of public office.
