LNG reference: Sheikh Rasheed submits ‘evidence’ to NAB

Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has handed over some important evidences regarding L NG reference to National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

On Friday Sheikh Rashid appeared before the NAB Rawalpindi Directorate and get recorded his statement in the LNG case. He also gave several documents to the officers of NAB.

He said that He said that ex PM Nawaz Sharif along with other cohorts received heavy commissions and kickbacks in the agreement.  Sheikh Rashid asked the NAB to include one of the fast friends of Mian Nawaz Sharif, Saif-ur-Rehman in the investigations, who played an important role in finalization the deal of LNG purchase from Qatar.

In his statement he said that the import of LNG from Qatar is the biggest ever scam in the history of the country in which two former Prime Ministers, Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi looted billon of rupees from national exchequer.

He told the NAB that Nawaz Sharif as PM signed the agreement with Qatar for purchasing expensive LNG. At that time Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was working as Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources .The contract was valid for 150 years for purchase of LNG worth of 20 billion dollars from Qatar. They agreed to pay the price of 13.50 USD per MMBT, which was much more than international market.

The sources said that, NAB has decided to take action on the statement of Sheikh Rashid.
