Seminar to discuss medicine price hike

Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) is organizing a seminar on “Drug Prices in Pakistan: Myth and Reality” on Monday where Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination, Aamer Mehmood Kiani will participate as chief guest.

According to a statement issued here, seminar will deliberate upon the need to ensure access to safe, quality and efficacious medicines at affordable prices as well as earliest availability of new treatment opportunities for the people of Pakistan.

Dr Azizur Rehman, Author of Pharmacy of the Developing World would be key note speaker while panelists will include, Senator Mian Muhammad AteeqShaikh, Chairperson, Senate Committee on National Health Services Regulations and Coordination, Dr.Nausheen Hamid, Parliamentary Secretary, National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Dr. Nisar Ahmed Cheema, Member National Assembly, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and officials of Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan.
