Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the PTI government was going to pledge the country with the IMF for eight billion dollars burdening the masses with more taxes.

He was speaking at an Iftar party hosted in his honour by the citizens at Sitara market, Islamabad. Sirajul Haq said that the PTI leadership had promised ten millions jobs besides poultry for the youth but had failed in both. On the other hand, it had placed the country in the hands of the IMF and handing over the keys of the exchequer to it.

He said the government was taking decisions on the basis of its wishes instead of hard facts. He said the levy of super tax and GST would further destroy the economy.  He said that when incompetence and arrogance went together, the destruction was the net result.   He said the wrong economic policies of the government had caused loss of one trillion rupees so far.

Sirjaul Haq said that in the beginning, the government was of the view that if it could get ten billion dollars from somewhere, it would not need to go to the IMF. He said the government secured 8.5 billion dollars from Saudi Arabia and UAE, yet it knocked the IMF door.
