SC rebukes Rawalpindi DC for razing girls guide centre wall

Supreme Court on Wednesday hinted at issuing a contempt of court notice to Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi in a case pertaining to razing the building of girls guide centre.

As per details, a three-member bench of the SC headed by Justice Azmat Saeed heard a case on a petition filed by Girls Guide Association against the Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed in which Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner appeared before the court.

Justice Azmat Saeed of the SC by expressing anger towards the commissioner and deputy commissioner questioned that don’t you guys know English? You both have violated the court’s orders and are not eligible for your posts.

“We will issue you a contempt notice and will send to you to Adiala Jail,” said Justice Azmat Saeed. To Which, DC Rawalpindi said that there wasn’t any contempt of the court.

At which, Justice Azmat Saeed in his response said that you razed all the walls of the Girls Guide Centre against the court’s orders doesn’t it come into contempt? To which, the DC told the court that they didn’t order to raze the walls.

At which, Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan said that why you are misleading the court? To which lawyer of the Girls Guide Association Aisha Hamid said that they being guilty of lying before the court.

Justice Azmat then questioned that did any ghost have razed the wall? You are not worthy of holding this responsibility go and find some other work as your career is finished now.

DC then told the court that he was in Lahore when that wall was razed. To which Justice Azmat Saeed said that Lahore is not on any other planet.

Association’s lawyer Aisha Hamid then told the court that the wall was razed on the directives of Sheikh Rasheed on April 15. To which, the lawyer of the Punjab government told the court that the wall restored within one day and gas connection will be revived today and pleaded the court to have some mercy.

To which, Justice Azmat said that you violated the court’s order under someone’s pressure and rejected the unconditional apology and made it clear that no one will be forgiven.

At the same time, Ashtar Ausaf went unconscious and fell on the ground and was immediately shifted to hospital for treatment and the court adjourned all of the placed hearing in room No: 2
