CDA officials ‘damage’ Ghana consulate

The Consul General of Ghana in Pakistan Shahid Rasheed Butt has criticised the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for raiding the consulate and breaking the stairs illegally under the pretext of operation against encroachments.

The CG of Ghana who has also served as president of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and patron of the Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders has decided to drag CDA officials to court over the harassment and violation which has resulted in heavy losses.

He also criticised the civic authorities for supporting the encroachers and turning blind eyes towards poor sewerage and sanitation conditions of the markets.

According to the details the CDA launched an operation against encroachments in the Super Market of Sector F-6.

Many encroachments were left untouched while some shops and offices were destroyed while the Consulate of Ghana was also damaged despite the fact that Embassies are Consulates are protected under international treaties.
