The minister for maritime affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi made sarcastic comments about the meeting of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Sunday.

The minister said “I’ve heard the ‘raillu kattas’ are meeting in Punjab today,” Zaidi said of the Bilawal-Maryam meeting. “Maybe she’s meeting one ‘raillu katta’; I just cannot fathom what’s happening.”

On the other hand, Minister of Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry, made jibes about the lifestyles of the PPP and PML-N leaders.

“The leaders of the poor are stepping off private jets. [They] reached the billion-rupee sultanate in their million-rupee, bullet-proof cars,” Chaudhry said.

“As soon as they sit on their designer furniture, they are welcomed with water from France. Afterwards, they talk about inflation and the living standard of the poor.”

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Maryam Nawaz Sharif met on ‘Father’s Day’ to save their fathers from mega corruption cases.

Addressing a press conference, Dr Firdous said that Benazir Bhutto’s soul would be in pain today as her successor went to PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif’s residence at Jati Umra to conceal his father’s corruption.

Criticizing the duo, she said that those who were born with a gold spoon in their mouths were talking about inflation and peoples’ problems.

Dr Firdous said that both’s father were on their right places for their bad deeds. She further said that the apex court had disqualified Maryam Nawaz from politics.

Dr Firdous said that Bilawal spoke in the press conference what ‘Raja Kumari’ dictated him during the meeting.

She said the government, with the support of its allies, would not only get the budget approved from the Parliament but also successfully achieved all the set targets.

“This budget is meant for the people and the state of Pakistan,” she said and added that PM Imran Khan would be successful in steering the country out of difficult times.

Separately in a tweet Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said the meeting between PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz and PPPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has no link with democracy.

She expressed the hope that for satisfaction of courts, the two will give a clear agenda for bringing back absconding brothers of Maryam and other Sharif family members and inform the nation about it.

Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said the nation is fully aware about the harsh reality that both PML-N and PPP have started the process of transferring politics and property to their next generations and this gathering is a step towards achievement of that goal.
