Girls Post Graduate College in Rawalpindi to become university next week

Notification for according status of university to Government Post Graduate Girls College Satellite Town Rawalpindi has been worked out which will be issued under the signatures of competent authority next week.

According to media reports the notification has sent a wave of jubilation among girl students. Preparations have been started to hold a big ceremony to celebrate the new status of university in respect of this college.  The chief guests of this ceremony will be Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad.

Soon after the change of status of the college as university, the admission process for university will start.

Professor Dr Aliya Sohail will be the first vice chancellor of this university.  This will be the second public sector women university in Rawalpindi.

On Aril 7, Punjab CM Usman Buzdar had approved the summary to grant the status of university to the historical Government Post Graduate Girls College Satellite Town.

Apart from this, the government will also build three new colleges in Rawalpindi.
