PM, COAS discuss IoK situation

Prime Minister Imran Khan met Chief of Army Staff General (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at Prime Minister Office in Islamabad on Thursday and discussed the national security issues and current situation of Indian-occupied Kashmir.

This was the duo’s first meeting after the premier approved a three-year extension in General Qamar’s tenure as army chief.

The extension, announced on Monday, was granted “in view of the regional security environment”.

Both discussed over all internal security situation as well while considered some new diplomatic steps to increase pressure on India.

Sources told Daily Morning Mail that both also discussed the latest situation on Line of Control and befitting response of Pakistan army against the Indian aggression and violation of cease fire agreement.

Prime Minister said that Pakistan will continue its diplomatic, moral and political support for Kashmiri people adding that will expose India in whole world because in the name of Hindutawa, Modi government took illegal steps in occupied Kashmir and Pakistan could not be silent on this at all.

Sources further told that both PM and Army Chief showed satisfaction on diplomatic steps and concern of US and international community on the current situation in Indian occupied Kashmir.
