Army ready to thwart any misadventure: COAS

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited formation Headquarters at Gilgit on Saturday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

According to ISPR, COAS laid floral wreath on Shahadua monument.

Addressing formation officers and troops COAS appreciated their state of readiness and moral despite challenges of weather, terrain and the enemy at the highest battlefield of the world. COAS said that we are alive to threat from Eastern Border linked to ongoing situation in IOJ&K and fully prepared to thwart any misadventure or aggression.

Defence sources told Daily Morning Mail that the purpose of the visit was to give strong message to the enemy that Pakistan armed forces were fully capable and ready in every situation. After Indian unilateral steps in occupied Kashmir, Pakistan army were in state of high alert on eastern border and army chief himself visited line of control and other areas to meet troops and showed satisfaction on their high moral.
