Addressing the party meeting in Lahore on Wednesday, he said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to undergo a serious heart operation next week for which the preparations have been made.

The PML-N president said that the former prime minister is deeply saddened by the current situation that the nation is suffering, adding that the efforts should be made to protect the interests of the nation and the country at a critical time.

The opposition leader said that the virus has shaken whole world and innocent people are dying, while the destruction of economy is emerging as a bigger threat than coronavirus.

The number of coronavirus patients increasing speedily, he said.

Shehbaz further said that we should not prioritise politics and political interests at this time and we have to keep on the track of our goal.

On Tuesday, while putting forward demands in the wake of the prevailing situation, Shehbaz Sharif has requested the government to increase doctor’s salary and demanded to provide kits to doctors, nurses and paramedics.

“Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government should make coronavirus tests free of cost for the common man,” he said, adding that PML-N has decided to provide 10,000 protective kits to doctors across Punjab.

He appealed the nation to follow the guidelines given to them by the incumbent government in order to combat the spread of COVID-19.
